School Age Immunisations

Introduction

The School age immunisations service designed to streamline the process of vaccination programmes currently available to school children in the UK.

Schools will have their own access to see which students have had consent forms completed, the consent response, and what session children are booked into.

Links for enrolment forms are sent to consenting adults (i.e. parents or guardians) for them to enrol their child onto the service for one or more of the following available vaccines:

  • FLU - administered mostly as a nasal spray, but can also be via injection.

  • MMR - injection for inoculation against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

  • HPV – injection for inoculation against Human papillomavirus

They will also have the option to consent for either or both of the following (which will be given at the same time):

  • MenACWY - protects against 4 strains of the meningococcal bacteria (Meningitis).

  • Td/IPV - also known as the 3-in-1 vaccination for Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Polio.

Medical questions within each enrolment form have been specifically designed to work alongside an auto-triage process, which will assign appointments to patients while still allowing a manual triage for patients who require a clinical decision.

PDS verified details, submitted through the enrolment forms, will ensure details are uploaded to the patient's GP systems throughout the running of the service. This allows a streamlined service, taking pressure off the NHS for vaccination programmes.

Emails sent through the service are highly configurable, allowing users to customise email templates to suit their needs.
